FRIEND, noun friend.
One who is attached to another by affection; one who entertains for another sentiments of esteem, respect and affection, which lead him to desire his company, and to seek to promote his happiness and prosperity; opposed to foe or enemy.
A friend loveth at all times. Proverbs 17:17.
Just what would you be willing to do for a friend?
What is the greatest length you have gone?
Is that enough?
Can you care about anyone and not show concern for their eternity?
God has HUMBLED ME... Please pray for me... I will cry over this for days!
You think you know someone. Even worse, you think that they know you. How deep do you LET you conversations get, and about what? Is it earier to discuss improper worldly topics rather than taking a chance of being rejected by speaking of The God Who Saved You? If I asked you only one question... Do You Think You Are Saved? What would your answer be... and why?
In an effort to obtain people to give an Acknowledgement (reference) for my book, I contacted a company I worked with for many years. I had made myself available to their 200+ employees all hours of the day and night for more than 10 years. I answered calls on holidays and special occasions. This job was my passion.
I finally got a familiar voice on the phone and explained that I had written a book on Revival and was looking for someone who knew me personally for many years to write a three sentence statement about me or my book. We had worked on many projects together, so, I started rambling on about my quest to bring the broken home.
Maybe they were all busy with work, or preoccupied with life, or just caught off guard at the thought that someone like me would DARE to do something so great, but they didn't seem to show any interest in what I was saying about Revival. I questioned in my mind if they had any idea what I was talking about, so I asked, hey, you guys know I'm Christian, right?
That's when I felt the IMPACT... I WAS HIT... just like my last car accident on November 25, 2024. Side-swiped. I never saw it coming! I practically fall to my knees, crying at their response; NO... BUT, YOU WERE SUCH A GOOD PERSON!
Well, be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. I always wanted to do something to make God smile. I certainly wasn't thinking this large. I had made
myself so small, accepting all this world told me I was. I DIDN'T REALIZE MY IMPRESSION OF MYSELF MADE MY GOD SO SMALL! I need to print t-shirts that say:
ASHAMED!
Humbled By God.
Available to tell you my story...
Just stand still & I'll start talking.
I've got a lot of wasted time to make up for.
Stab wound to the heart! God had to HUMBLE me so I could look past what I thought of myself and see what image I projected to others. (There's that Bumper Sticker project from The Scavenger Hunt, Appendix D of my book, 'No, Not One!') How is it that they didn't know?
OBVIOUSLY, they didn't know, because I didn't tell them. And, my walk with God was so compromised that no one could tell I was Christian to ask me. Oh, the horror!
BUT GOD, this is The Season of Second Chances... Praise Jesus! Just like Scrooge, I was given another chance. I'm shedding the negative baggage, the lies, the deceptions and I'm 'LIGHTening my load'. Everything really seems so much easier when you let God do the heavy lifting. Amen.
I am one old broken-down woman who lives with pain every day from 3 auto accidents. I am permanently disabled, awaiting another neck fusion and a spinal cord stimulator as we speak. But, I have never felt pain like this before. Tears pouring down, I would VOW to contact as many people as I could remember, beg for their email, and send them an invitation to create a password to read my book on the website.
I would try and undo this grave injustice that I had done. How could I call anyone friend when I didn't care enough about their soul to make sure their eternity was safe and secure in Christ. I would offer the same email to anyone who knew me as an apology. I am truly sorry. That was never my intent.
My vision from the last chapter of my book that I had feared so much had come true. How many more times would I have to relive that feeling? Still, I was SO HAPPY to be able to find out now, while I still had a chance to try and fix it... Amen!

Be Blessed!
Miss Bess
PS - Getting right with God HURTS as He delicately carves out the worldly spots, crushes you, and remolds you with His Own Hands. Just the thought that He took the time to even notice you, no less want better for you, leaves you humbled and joyful all at the same time.
18 Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. 19 And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.
20 When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
Back then, being paralyzed was seen as a direct result of sin. This man would have been an outcast. These men would have had to be filled with compassion and the love of God to sacrifice for the needy. The emotions were so great that they were compelled to action.
This man and his physical imperfections were not invisible to them. They invested in his life.
They took the time, effort, and energy needed to carry this man to where Jesus was. That's friendship and love.
Unable to reach Jesus on the ground due to the crowds, they devise a plan. They wouldn't let any obstacle get in their way. Their determination and teamwork is commendable.
They would climb up onto the roof, remove a section of it, and lower their friend down to be healed. This required a great deal of physical strength.
Their faith, not the man's faith, was what Jesus considered when healing the man.
Jesus had the power to heal the man.
They did not complete this act of kindness for personal benefit.
Christians are required to be persistent in their faith.
Often we don't know what people need, but we know that Jesus possesses the power to see and heal ALL their needs. The greatest need of any individual will always be reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ, and His forgiveness of sin.
Jesus has the authority to forgive sin. This forgiveness of sin removes guilt and shame, both from others and self-inflicted. Guilt and shame hold us back from performing God's Will for our life.
The miracle was performed in front of many people glorifying God. Because of this public expression of faith, many were saved. So, the paralytic wasn't the only one who was healed. All involved benefited from the experience.
